Your Eye Test
Tailored sight tests
When it comes to looking after your eyes a proactive approach is recommended. As well as ensuring that your vision is as near perfect as possible, many eye conditions are symptomless and regular eye tests will help to protect and preserve your most precious sense.
Not only can regular eye tests detect common eye problems, they can detect other conditions that affect the rest of the body. For instance, conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol can all be discovered during a routine eye examination.
How often should I have my eyes examined?
It is important that everyone should have an eye examination every 2 years but if you are over 40, have a history of glaucoma in your family or have diabetes we recommend more regular checkups.
To ensure that you get the correct prescription and fit it is a good idea to get your glasses or contact lenses from the same practice that tested you. The Black & Lizars Enhanced Eye Exam is the gold standard of eye care and is significantly more advanced than any other test on the high street.
Don’t forget that in Scotland, all NHS eye examinations are completely free.
