BLACK & LIZARS COVID-19 UPDATE FOR PATIENTS
This is a very unsettling time for all and at Black & Lizars we have been endeavouring to keep all our services operating as normal up until now.
However, from Monday 23rd March we have been advised to suspend routine eye exams and only see patients for emergency or essential examinations until further notice. This means that we will not be performing routine annual or 2 yearly eye tests, contact lens checks, contact lens fits.
At this time all our practices remain open but it is likely that we will need to temporarily close some of our practices, if this does happen please call your normal practice and if it is closed you will be automatically diverted to a Black & Lizars practice that is open.
Below are some FAQ’s but if you have any further questions please call your practice.
I have an appointment booked in the future what should I do?
If you have an appointment scheduled over the next few weeks you will be contacted by your practice, this may have already happened but if not please don’t worry you will receive a call. If you are concerned that you have not been contacted then please don’t hesitate to call your practice, staff are still available to take your call.
What if I am concerned about my eyesight during this time?
You should call your practice, they will take you through a “triage” questionnaire over the phone and a course of action will be decided. This may be a conversation with an optometrist over the phone or an appointment made for you to visit a practice.
Please do not just come along to the practice as we will be managing clinics to ensure social distancing.
I have ordered glasses but not collected them yet, when will I get them?
We are working hard to ensure that all orders are fulfilled as quickly as possible and you will be contacted to let you know when you can collect. We may need to post glasses out to you depending on your circumstances, but this will be discussed when we advise your glasses are ready.
Please do not just come along to the practice to check as we will be managing patient numbers to ensure social distancing.
I get my contact lenses on home delivery - will this be affected?
Our home delivery service is operating as normal and you should receive your scheduled delivery without any interruption. However please be advised if you are suffering from any symptoms of COVID-19 the recommendation is that you do not wear contact lenses whilst you have symptoms.
I regularly buy eye drops or supplements can I still get these?
There are a number of products that we can supply on a regular home delivery already where you can pay by monthly Direct Debit and we are working hard to get more products added in the next few days. We could also take order and payment over the phone and post product out to you.
