Situated on Dumbarton Road in the centre of Stirling, the
practice is a 10 minute walk from Stirling train and bus stations
and directly across the road from the Dumbarton Road bus stop for
The Castle View park and ride which is off the M9 at junction
10. There is metered parking in some of our surrounding
residential streets too.
Our practice is housed at street level in a traditional stone
Scottish building overlooking part of the remains of the old
Stirling Wall. Stirling's walls are one of the most complete sets
of old town walls in Scotland. Their construction began in
1547 to protect the Royal Court from Henry the VIII's
devastating raids on Scotland in the pursuit of the young Mary
Queen of Scots' hand in marriage for his son Edward.
We provide a Macular Screening service, serving
the Central Belt of Scotland. This is an individual assessment
which allows the Optometrist to advise the patient of their risk of
dry macular degeneration, and how to reduce the risk, based on the
measurement of their macular pigment combined with the SIGHTRISK™
computer programme.
