Why SLR?
For landscape, portraiture, sports, close up or wildlife photography an SLR camera is usually necessary. These cameras allow the user to change lenses to suit their specific requirements and allow control of the shutter speed or aperture. These settings are necessary for the serious photographer to control the depth of field for landscapes or to use the faster shutter speeds to freeze motion for sports photography.
An SLR camera will allow the user to see the image through the lens in the viewfinder, making it easy to take close ups and allowing the use of specialist filters to create special effects. SLR camera sales have been increasing over the past few years, mainly due to smaller, lighter and easier to use models becoming available.
