What’s more important for your child...
that spectacle frames are free?
or that they offer the highest levels of safety and comfort?
At Black & Lizars we believe that parents are more concerned with ensuring that their child’s glasses are safe and comfortable than with getting them for next to nothing.
That’s why we’ve been delighted to introduce a new range of children’s spectacles using the new Essilor Junior lenses - excellent optical quality, safeguarding the visual health of your children with UV protection and scratch-resistance as standard. A suitable range for all ages and all activities.
Complete spectacles - frame, lenses and case - from £59 to £119 complete.
Don't Kid with My Eyes!
Children's eye is vitally important and has always been a priority at Black & Lizars. Reading skills, good vision and good hand-eye coordination are closely linked so it is entirely appropriate for us to reinforce the message to parents of the importance of good vision to their child's reading ability.
Unfortunately, 1 in 8 children will have a visual problem which will manifest itself either as poor vision, poor coordination or both. The good news is that early detection and prompt correction will mean they will almost regain their normal reading ability.
Parents should endeavour to have their children's eyes examined by an optometrist as early as possible, preferably by the age of two and certainly before they start school and begin to learn to read. This is particularly important if mum, dad or a sibling wears glasses or there is a family history of a squint or lazy eye.
Eye examinations are now free in Scotland thanks to a recent initiative by the Scottish Executive to improve the nation's visual health. Starting early in life with regular eye examinations means that all children have the best possible chance of enjoying a lifetime of good vision.
