Black & Lizars was formed in 1999 as a result of a merger between two of Scotland's oldest optical retail chains - Lizars and C. Jeffrey Black.
It is now Scotland's largest independently owned optical chain, with 25 practices in Scotland and one in Belfast, a purpose-built head office in the regenerated Govan area of Glasgow, 255 staff and a turnover in 2004 of around £13 million.
In 2007 we added practices in Stirling, Falkirk and Haddington and were very honoured to be chosen to provide optical services at Gogarburn, the prestigious global headquarters of the Royal Bank of Scotland.
We strive to provide only quality products, the highest standards of clinical care and good value for money.
We work closely with our suppliers, many of whom are the worldwide leaders in their field, to ensure that the products we offer our patients are the latest and the best available on the market at any time.
We are committed to the training and development of our staff in order that they acquire the skills and knowledge needed to perform their tasks efficiently and provide the best possible care and service to our patients.
Our policy is to offer consistently good value for money on all our products and services, from complete price spectacles to designer frames, from prescription sunglasses to ongoing care for contact lens wearers.
Black & Lizars - the difference is clear to see.
